Our God is unmistakable!

As we mentioned yesterday, what happened on the day of Pentecost could not fully be articulated. But it most certainly was unmistakable!

Acts 2:2-4 NIV Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Every single person in the upper room heard the sound that was like the blowing of a violent wind – it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Every single person in the upper room saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated – they came to rest on each of them.

Every single person in the upper room experienced being filled with the Holy Spirit – all of them began to speak in other tongues.

Our God is unmistakable! Every single person in the upper room knew that what they heard and saw and experienced came from heaven.

I love the story of God showing up when Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace. Here’s what happened next: 

Daniel 3:24-25 NKJV Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Everyone saw the fourth man in the fire who they could only say is like the Son of God! Once again, we see our indescribable and unmistakable God on display!
