Our God is indescribable!

When God called Moses to lead the Children of Israel out of Egypt into the Promised Land, Moses asked God who he should tell them has sent him. Here is God’s reply to Moses:

Exodus 3:14 NIV God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

Our God can not be reduced down to letters that form a word! He is infinitely bigger in every way than human language can articulate.

Our greatest thoughts about God fall far short. Our image of His largeness and power is so small in comparison to His reality. Our God is indescribable!

And what He does can not be fully explained by us.

Recently, it was Pentecost Sunday. Many go to Acts 2:1-4 to see what happened on that powerful day. Notice the language that is used:

Acts 2:2-4 NIV Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Nothing about this outpouring could be adequately defined! Our God is indescribable!
