#490 – He Heard Me

Good morning people God listens to

Challenges come to every person. I wish they didn’t but they do. David is a man that knew challenges in deep ways. He served others faithfully and yet he was hunted down as if he was a criminal that deserved death. How did David find help in these times?

Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears.

I don’t want to give ‘pad’ answers or prescribe a pill that will ‘fix’ all your challenges. I do however want to point us to our Heavenly Father who deeply cares for us, His children.

Who do we call to in our times of distress? David called to the Lord. Sometimes I look to people to meet needs that only God can meet. This is not healthy for me or for them. Yes it is true that we are meant to ‘bear one another’s burdens’ but the Source of our strength and security must be found in the One who breathed life into us.

David expressed his belief plainly. He knew that his cry for help reached God’s ears. He need not cry aloud in vain, although in the moment I’m sure He had moments where He did not ‘feel’ God. But David brought his requests, his cry for help, to the Lord with an assurance that his voice was heard by His Father in heaven.

God hears your cries too. He is listening to you and He desires to be your Source of strength today. Why don’t you talk to Him again. Right now is a good time for Him; you are on His mind and in His heart.
