#187 – Faith & Love

Good morning faith-filled and loving people

Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

As we said yesterday, the focus of our lives should not be on fulfilling the law but on receiving and walking in God’s grace. The result of this focus in life will be a life of faith expressed through love. This is a life that honours God.

Hebrews 11 tells us the Patriarchs of old were justified by faith; their absolute trust and belief in God and His goodness. Their faith was not based upon evidence but on a word from God. They simply heard and obeyed. Hebrews tells us it’s our faith that pleases God; not our adherence to the law. This year we can do the same and please God by our faith.

Jesus repeatedly tells us that the greatest commandment is love; love God and love people. This is God’s greatest priority for you and I and it is evidence of God within us.

Faith and love should be our priorities as we walk in God’s grace. Faith and love are the right response from a heart overwhelmed with gratitude for what God has done. May 2009 be a year where the Church focuses on faith and grace and not on being good enough. May 2009 be a year that we all are receivers and dispensers of God’s unlimited and unfathomable grace.
