Good morning people who have wisdom on what paths you start down
Yesterday we talked about temptation being tempting, and that we always have the power of choice. We talked about us working with the Spirit by saying YES to Him and NO to wrong desire.
Today I see a great key in scripture that needs to get our attention more.
Here’s the scripture and the insight:
Proverbs 1:15 NIV My son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths.
It’s easier to not start down the wrong path than to try and stop what you shouldn’t have started.
Too often we place ourselves in tempting situations and ask God to help us. Sometimes this is unavoidable (we live in a very fallen and brazen world). But many times it is avoidable, and this is what this scripture is talking about.
When you have a choice to start down a path of enticement or not, don’t start!
This could include: having that conversation, going to that bar, buying that extra packet of chocolate, clicking on that link…you know what it is for you.
If the path leads to less than God’s best, don’t set foot on it.
