Good morning people who are empowered by God to choose wisely

Proverbs 1:10 NIV My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.

Sometimes we have a false belief that we just can’t say NO. This is not true.

We always have the power of choice, even when it’s not easy. 

This verse talks about being enticed by sinful men. 

This word ‘entice’ has a strong meaning that includes ‘deceiving, flattering, persuading and alluring’. This is a pretty intense word.

Now hear me clearly:

Temptation wouldn’t be temptation if it wasn’t tempting.

I’ve had plenty of times in my life where my focus has been on temptation getting easier; on temptation not being tempting.

The longer I walk with God, I realise the correct focus is on me getting stronger!

This is primarily a work of the Spirit, but His working combines with our working, and our working is saying YES to Him and NO to wrong desire.

“Help us Lord to not give in to the enticement of sin.”
