Good morning people who forgive others and receive forgiveness from God

Matthew 6:12 NIV And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Jesus showed us that prayer is a request for our Omniscient Father to forgive us in the same way that we have forgiven others.

“So, what comes first: God forgiving us, or us forgiving others?”

I believe the answer is YES. Let me explain.

Our starting position is always God first. He is the initiator always, and our salvation was because He chose us, and He revealed Himself to us. Therefore, He forgave us when we asked Him to. Praise God!

But upon the foundation of ‘God first’, I believe Jesus wants us to know that our Father expects us to forgive others as He has forgiven us, and as He continues to forgive us.

To be even more clear, as Believers who are forgiven, I believe there are times we have not forgiven others who have wronged us, and yet we are asking for God to forgive us for something we have done wrong.

Prophetically today, I believe that in these times I have just mentioned, Father would say to us all: “Forgive them first, then I will forgive you.”

We don’t like this, but God’s way is best. God knows that our freedom is in His forgiveness to us, but He also knows it is in our forgiveness of others.
