Good morning people who are Biblically grounded in the things of God
1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV LOVE does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Evil and truth – two words that we hear less and less (even in some churches), and that are being changed all too often ‘for the sake of people’.
Let me be clear from the outset: Not calling evil “evil” (or you might want to say ‘sin “sin”’), and not calling truth “truth”, is never for the sake of people!
In fact (or in truth as it is in this case), it is always to the detriment of people, and even often, to the damning (in the truest sense of the word) of people.
Even as I type this, there is a holy stirring in me for the people of God to come back to a right and uncompromising foundation in the infallible Word of God.
I think we might lean into this a little more over the coming days, but for now, let me clarify what this has to do with LOVE.
It’s simple: Everything!
LOVE does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth – both of which are impossible if we don’t know what is evil and what is truth.
May every part of our lives honour God.
