Good morning sensitive people
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
This is something that can be difficult for us to do; identify with how others feel. Sometimes I don’t do this well at all; I need to improve in this. Maybe you do too.
When people are happy and rejoicing, let’s join with them and celebrate with them. This will mean different things to different people. For some it may mean, enjoy the celebrations and rejoice when your team rejoices. Sometimes people move on to the next thing too quickly. For some it may mean putting aside your negative feelings and thinking of others more than yourself. Don’t be the one that always brings the atmosphere down. Be an encourager and an uplifter.
On the flip side we are encouraged to identify with the challenges that people go through. It’s too easy and too common to be insensitive to those going through difficulties. I’m reminded about the time when Lazarus had died and Jesus responded to the call by his sisters, Martha and Mary to come. When Jesus saw their pain, He didn’t rebuke them for their lack of faith and tell them how to move forward. The Bible simply states, ‘Jesus wept’. Jesus mourned with those who mourned. Maybe we should too.
