#2131 – Hearing From God

Good morning people who take time to listen to our wonderful God.

Revelation 2:7a (NIV) Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I love hearing from God!!! I hear from God as I read His Word. I hear from God as I write ‘Believing In You’. I hear from God through my lovely wife Sally (she is such a gift from God to me and I am grateful for the many times Sal speaks a word in season to me from God). I hear from God through my daughters. I hear from God through other members of my family and through people on our ministry team. I hear from God while listening to preachers and worship. I hear from God through my friends. I hear from God while walking in His incredible creation.

I love hearing from God!!!

But it takes a listening ear. The truth is, God is speaking to us much more than we realise. The key is not God speaking (He is), but rather us listening.

And with that listening, we need to be willing to listen continually and listen through different vehicles God uses. I wonder if at times we fail to hear God speak because we didn’t notice the person or situation He chose to speak through. I’m reminded that God spoke in Bible times through a donkey, through a heathen king and through children.

So let me say it one more time: I love hearing from God!!!

“How are you going with desiring to hear from God? How are you going with intentionally listening to God? How are you going with picking up on what God is saying through unexpected people and situations?”
