#2087 – God’s Family

Good morning people who are committed to doing things God’s way

Yesterday I mentioned some Believers have made a decision not to go to church which has turned into a habit. I also said God is welcoming you home to His family this week.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Today, I am not minimizing anything you have been through, but I feel compelled to speak directly to you as someone who loves you dearly. Today I want to lift up the truth of God’s Word.

Firstly the church is God’s family. That’s right, it is God’s family. Church is not just a meeting together of strangers – it is the family of God getting together to encourage each other and to draw closer to God.

God loves His family. Have you considered that? I love my family, but nowhere near as much as God loves His family. Now my family don’t always get on perfectly, and nor does yours. But it would be devastating to me if there was a rift between members of my family, and as a result, they didn’t ever meet together because of past hurts.

“How much more must it break God’s heart when His children won’t spend time together because of hurts…or even just because of a bad habit?”

“Do you see the church as God’s family? I encourage you today to ask Him for a greater revelation of His view of His church; His family.”
