Good morning blessed people of God!

Today I want to talk about the blessing of children. I hear some of the children and teenagers reading this say “Preach it Steve!” while I hear some of you parents say “You don’t know my kids!” As we always do, let’s look at what the Bible says; let’s look at the truth.

Psalm 127:3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him.

This is such a simple little verse but one that captures the heart of God very clearly. Children are a blessing from God; that’s what the Word says! Because they are a blessing FROM GOD, they deserve love, affection and high honour to be given to them. Children are valuable to God and therefore they should be valuable to us. As adults, we have the enormous privilege and responsibility to be positive role models to children; ours and other peoples. How do you view children? How do you treat children?

Now before you kids get too carried away, remember that your parents were children before you were and therefore they have been a reward and a blessing from God for longer than you. So you need to show them respect and love and treat them with the honour they deserve because they are loved by God too, just like you are, except older and with more wrinkles.

Now that we are all on the same page, here’s the simple thought for today. Let’s honour each other. Let’s view each other through God’s eyes and parents especially today, let’s get a biblical perspective of our children; they are a reward and a blessing from God.
