#134 – Godly Counsel

Good morning Bible-believing Christ-followers

Do you want to be blessed in life? I’m sure you do. Do you want to bring honour to God in all you do? I pray this is your desire. What enables this to happen? One of the things that is essential to live a blessed life is to get your counsel from the Word of God and not simply from man’s thoughts and philosophies.

I believe we are living in a time when many are seeking alternative counsel to the Word of God. Sometimes the reason is because what the Bible says requires too much; many times we want quick solutions that are relatively cost-free. Sometimes the reason is uncertainty; does God really know what He is doing? Sometimes the reason is ignorance; many spend minimal time in the Word of God and therefore don’t know what God’s desire is for them. Sometimes the reason is the persuasiveness of man; some do not spend enough time listening to the voice of God and the primary voices they listen to and heed is the voice of man.

God’s Word is truth and the Bible says ‘know the truth and it’s the truth that will set you free’. God’s counsel is always right; it may not be the most popular or easy, but it is always the best. I encourage every person today to re-establish the total authority of the Word of God. I remind you today that the will of God for your life is contained in the Word of God. God’s precious Word needs to be our primary source of counsel; the result is a life that is blessed!

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
