#108 – Discipline #3

Good morning disciples of Christ!

We talked about praying without ceasing and meditating on the Word every day, now I want to point our attention to worship. Worship is not simply confined to music; it is so much more than that. The best definition I’ve heard is from Rick Warren in The Purpose Driven Life. He says “Worship is anything you do that brings pleasure to God”. I love that! Worship is more about how you live than what you sing. Worship involves obeying God. Worship is about adoring God and loving God but not merely from lip service but life service. This is true worship and this must be a part of our every day life.

We must pray, we must meditate and we must live lives worthy of the One who gave us breath. This also involved verbalising how grateful we are to God for who He is. Do you do that? It involves being specific in your thanks to God for what He has done. Do you do this? Look at what the Bible says.

John 4:23 (MSG) But the time is coming–it has, in fact, come–when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.

I pray that all of our lives are worship to our great God today; live for His glory!
