#86 – True Worship

Good morning worshipping warriors!

Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says; “These people come near to me with their mouth and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”

What do you see in this passage? When you read the Word of God do you take time to meditate on it? Do you ask what this is saying to you? Does it require a change of heart or attitude? Here’s what I get out of this passage.

True worship is not just lip service; it’s life service. True worship is not so much in what I say and sing but it is a reflection of my heart. People look at me raising my hands, shutting my eyes and singing with passion and conclude worship is taking place. God looks at my heart, the character and fruit of my life, how I treat my wife and my daughters, how I handle my finances, how I serve others and He listens to the words I speak and sing and then concludes whether worship is taking place or not. God doesn’t want worship to be a religious experience; He wants it to be a relational experience. God doesn’t want moments of worship; He wants lifestyles of worship, 24/7.

Sometimes my words and my actions match up and sometimes they don’t. I am grateful that God is patient with me. I am thankful that God is committed to my journey. Today I want to ensure that I worship God in an honourable way and in all that I do.

How is your worship?
