Good morning people who come boldly before God because you are forgiven.
Hebrews 10:19-22 NIV Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
This is one of the richest and most encouraging passages of scripture! I think we might need to camp in it for a few days as we consider what God is saying.
God says we can have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place. Just stop for a moment and think about this. Only that which is perfect, holy and acceptable to God can enter the Most Holy Place, and God says that’s us!
How can this be?
I take note of the way this passage starts, ‘Therefore’. As someone once said, “When we see a ‘therefore’ in God’s Word, we need to ask what it is there for.”
In this passage, the confidence we can have to enter the Most Holy Place is because of the preceding verses that tell us God chooses not to remember our sins and there is no longer any sacrifice needed for what is forgiven and forgotten!
Before God, we are clean, pure and spotless! Therefore, we can have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus!
