Good morning people whose fixed position is in the Lord God Almighty.

Colossians 3:1-4 NIV Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

The word for is synonymous with the word because. It denotes that what is being said now is connected to what was previously said.

Paul’s instruction for us to set our hearts and minds on things above is because we are dead to self and alive in Christ.

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 

Oh, what a marvelous mystery and deep spiritual reality that our very lives are now hidden with Christ in God.

The word with means together, association, companionship, resemblance. Our lives as born again believers are intertwined with Christ. Our association is with Him. We now have companionship and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. And as such, we take on the family resemblance; we are Christians of the Christ!

The word in denotes a fixed position. All of the above happens because we are in the fixed position of being in God. This is our home! This is our hiding place! This is our safe refuge! This is our spiritual reality!

But it doesn’t stop there!

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

This natural home is not our eternal home! Listen carefully to the words of Jesus:

John 14:1-4 NIV “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Jesus is coming again and we will be with Him for eternity!
