#6402 – God’s Purpose

Good morning people who never lose sight of what God is doing in every moment.

Luke 4:13 NIV When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

It’s interesting that the devil finished tempting Jesus until another kairos moment. I would have thought that kairos moments were only in God. But we must see this verse through the lens of the whole Word of God, and here’s what I feel Father is saying:

Even when the enemy thinks it’s a kairos moment for evil, God is greater and He always has a higher plan and purpose for the same kairos moment!

Every temptation is an opportunity to do good or evil. Every temptation is an opportunity to overcome or give in. Every temptation is an opportunity to strengthen ourselves spiritually or weaken ourselves spiritually. Every temptation is simply an opportunity.

Sometimes we fear opportunities rather than embrace them. To be fair, some opportunities should be run from.

2 Timothy 2:22 NIV Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Flee – yes – but equally, pursue. A choice is always between two options, not one. Sometimes this gets lost when we only see what the enemy is doing. But with every temptation, we have the opportunity to get stronger in the Lord!

When the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus embraced the opportunity – the kairos time – to say YES to His Father, and as a result, to gain spiritual authority as a Man of God. Don’t forget, Luke 2:52 tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature, and in favour with God and man.

I declare: You’ve got this because God’s got you! You can say YES to God and NO to temptation, and you can do this always!

1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Praise God for His grace and power to always overcome!
