Good morning people who do not think of yourself more highly than you should.
John 13:5 MEV After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was wrapped.
When we lead and serve like Jesus, nothing will be beneath us.
The world’s way is all about climbing a ladder and “arriving” at some elevated place. Success means “others do that, not me”. Unfortunately, this can creep (or storm) into “Christian leadership”. It’s not the example of Jesus.
There was a time that parents brought their children to Jesus so that He could bless them. By this time in Jesus’ ministry, He had spoken to crowds of thousands. The disciples knew that this Man was important. So, when the children came, the disciples said that the Master was “above that” kind of ministry.
Matthew 19:13-15 MEV Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them. For to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
I have been saddened by the comments from pastors where we have had the privilege of ministering, when they have told us that other ministers had cancelled coming to them when they heard that their church was smaller in number. This is a disgrace and it does not reflect the heart of Jesus.
Never forget that Jesus spent most of His time with twelve men. At other times, He stayed in places as He ministered to one lowly person who didn’t pay Him anything.
Nothing was beneath Jesus. Nothing must be below us either.
