#6059 – Unbelievably Patient

Good morning people whose God is much kinder than you might think.

Exodus 4:14-16 NIV Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you. You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.

When I am ticked off at people, it is easy for me to step back from them, and dare I be honest enough, even at times write them off. I’m growing in this area, but it is something that I’m learning as I continue to lean into and listen to God.

God is very different to me – and I say praise God for that! He is patient even when we keep on being faithless and unfaithful to Him.

In this scripture, we are clearly told that the Lord’s anger burned against Moses because of his response to God. Moses was far more focused on himself and his perceived limitation than he was on God and His abundant ability and might. We can very easily fall into the same way of thinking and responding to God.

But instead of writing Moses off, the Lord still uses Moses and He also uses Aaron. God commits to helping both of them speak and He also commits to teaching them what to do. What a wonderfully kind and patient God!

For some of you reading this today, you might identify with Moses and how he responded to the Lord. Maybe you feel like it is too late or that God is ticked off with you. While adjustment and possibly even repentance may be needed, I want to tell you that your heavenly Father is waiting with open arms for you. His heart is for you, and if He has declared something over your life, He is still working to bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

I pray today will be a day of realignment and reengagement with God’s purpose and plan for your life.
