#6058 – Send Someone Else

Good morning people who desire to hear Father’s commendation over your life.

Exodus 4:13-14 NIV But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you.

‘Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses.’

I never want to hear these words with my name inserted. Rather, I want to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant!!” (Matthew 25:23).

The difference is our obedience.

Obedience is doing what God has told us to do. Obedience is not serving God in a different area than what He has said. To obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22).

In this scripture, I am also drawn to the fact that God said He would speak through Moses’ brother Aaron when Moses said, “Not me” to God.

This reminds me of the time that Jesus told His disciples to feed the multitude of men and women (Matthew 14:13-21). Their response was, “We can’t”. Jesus then feed them Himself, but this was not His original intention – He clearly wants His disciples to feed the people.

God wanted Moses, not Aaron, to speak to Pharoah, but when Moses said please send someone else, God chose Aaron.

I never want God to have to choose someone else to do what He has told me to do.

May we be obedient faith-filled followers of Jesus and may we do our part in God’s eternal plan.
