#58 – Obeying God

Good morning Christ-followers

Knowledge is wonderful; without it the Bible says people perish. We must know the Word of God and that takes time to read it, study it, memorise it and meditate on it. It’s not a brief surface glance; it’s a deep knowing that is required but it’s also possible for every person. But knowledge is not enough. In fact, many times knowledge leads to pride and knowledge without action is dangerous.

This is exciting guys because God loves us enough to show us how to live! Then we have a moment of choice; do it God’s way and be blessed in all we do or do it our way and live a frustrated life. God’s Word, when applied, is the most powerful ingredient of a blessed life. Here are a few questions that I encourage us all to ask today.

1. Do I take the time to hear God, both through the Word and the Holy Spirit?

2. Do I obey what I’ve heard and what I know?

3. Are there any things that I make excuses for that today I should move to obedience on?

It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that what God has asked is too difficult or costs too much. True obedience to God costs everything, but it is the only successful way to live and eternity will pay an unimaginable reward for a life of following Christ; both in word and in deed.

James 1:22 Do what God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves
