Good morning people who see the Lord God Almighty as Holy and Pure as He is.
Proverbs 9:10 MEV The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
This is one of the most important and insightful verses in the Bible. If we could all receive a deeper revelation of this profound truth, many things would change.
It is the fear of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom.
It is not the accumulation of knowledge from much study that is the beginning of wisdom.
It is not the best education that is the beginning of wisdom.
And it most definitely is not listening to the wisdom of this age – of the world system – that is the beginning of wisdom.
Knoweldge of facts and figures and trends and data is not where understanding originates.
Knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Knowledge means to know, to ascertain by seeing. This is much more than ‘reading about God’. This is about seeing God and knowing Him through encounter. This is about intimacy with God.
And it is not without reason that God is mentioned as the Holy One in this scripture. There is a holy reverential awe-filled reality about who our God is. He is sacred; He is set apart. He is not One among many. He is not my buddy or my pal. He is holy.
It is in knowing the Holy One that we are able to have discernment – to separate mentally (to distinguish) – between right and wrong; what is good and what is evil. Counterfeits are exposed in the Light of Truth. Oh, help us Lord to hear what Your Spirit is saying to the church.
What view of God do you have?
Is your relationship with God casual or all-consuming and holy?
May we all know God as He is.
