Good morning people who recount and recall the beautiful promises of God.
Proverbs 3:1-2 MEV My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and long life and peace will they add to you.
I love the tender way that God speaks to us as His children. Father really does love us deeply and His desire is for us and for our good.
Jesus didn’t die so that we would have a ‘barely getting by’ life. He came that we should have ‘abundant life’. This is primarily talking about eternal life, but there is also a truth that God wants us to prosper and flourish in this life too.
Here’s what the apostle John – the one whom Jesus loved – wrote:
3 John 1:2 NKJV Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Again, notice John’s language when he says beloved. John encountered the tender heart of God through Jesus, and now he writes from that place of revelation. May this be the testimony and reality of our lives too.
The beautiful promise in our Proverbs scripture starts with these words: My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands. These are words that we need to hear.
In a sin-saturated world, I believe that we need to continually and constantly fill our minds with the goodness of God and all that He says. If we are not intentional, we so easily forget.
God’s Word needs to be kept in our heart and not just on our bookshelf.
