#5688 – Eliminating Comparison

Good morning people who are secure in the love and acceptance you have in God.

I heard the Lord say, “I want to eliminate rushing and comparison in my people.” Wow!

Yesterday, we looked at eliminating rushing. Today, let’s look at eliminating comparison.

One of the greatest enemies in your life is comparison to other people. Sometimes this is blatant, but many times it is subtle. It’s time to eliminate comparison from your life.

Jesus is our standard. He is the one whom we are called to be like. And the truth is, every one of us are on a journey to becoming more like Jesus. This is the basis for getting rid of comparison – we have all fallen short of the glory of God, and we are all on the journey of being transformed by the renewing of our mind. We all have a way to go!

I truly believe that too many Christians are wrongly measuring and comparing themselves through what they see on social media.

Can I be blunt here: social media often portrays only a portion or a certain side of peoples’ lives. People post what they want you to see so that they can look good!

While I’m being blunt, let me say this: for some of you, the best thing you can do is to remove yourself off social media, even if it is for a season to detox.

If you are on it more than you are in God’s Word, then you are on it too much.

If the result of you being on it is envying another person’s life or wishing you had ‘this’ or that ‘that’ would be different because of what you see, it’s time to eliminate comparison by disconnecting!

Dear friends, your life is precious to God, and you are important to me. I urge you to reclaim elimination of the things that rob you of seeing yourself how God sees you. I urge you to eliminate comparison.

May all of our lives become more like Jesus this year as we continually look to Him and gaze upon His beautiful face.
