Good morning people who live with a grateful heart towards the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Thankfulness is a missing master key in many people’s lives. Too often it is scarce from my life too.
Therefore, as we step forward into this year, what would a life of thankfulness look like for you and for me?
The apostle Paul was big on the topic of giving thanks and rejoicing in the Lord. He repeated these words many times, and often, he did so from a prison cell.
This year, our circumstances and situations – good or bad, easy or difficult – will not ultimately define us. Firstly, God Himself will define us. But secondly, our thankfulness will be what many people notice.
Have you ever been around people who, despite evident major challenges, they continually give thanks and point towards the goodness of God?
I have, and even now, one dear friend – Carl Hawes – comes to mind. He is such an inspiration to me.
Conversely, have you ever been around other people who, regardless of how good things are, they are negative and critical?
Again, I have, and it’s very unpleasant.
So, what kind of person will you be this year? Will thankfulness or complaining be the mark of your life?
It’s time to reclaim thankfulness as a way of life.
