Ephesians 2:11-13 NIV Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Oh my goodness me! Thank You Lord!!

While Israel was God’s chosen people and the ones He gave His covenant promise to, Jesus Christ came to reconcile all mankind to the Father! Now in Christ, Jews and Gentiles can all be saved!

Do you notice the language of ‘them and us’ that the Gentiles received from the Jews, and vice versa. Human division, segregation and elitism were a normal part of life. Sometimes they still are. 

But not in Christ! The blood of Jesus has brought near those who were once far away!

To those who accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith, they are no longer separated from Christ!

To those who accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith, they are no longer excluded from citizenship in God’s family!

To those who accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith, they are no longer foreigners to the covenants of the promise!

To those who accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith, they are no longer without hope and without God in the world!

Through Christ, all may come near to the Father through the gift of salvation!
