Good morning people who embrace every part of our risen Lord and Saviour.
Ephesians 1:2 NIV Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we lean into seeing God more accurately, I feel to lean into these three words: Lord Jesus Christ.
The word ‘Lord’ when referring to Jesus means ‘supreme in authority.’
Jesus Christ is not one among many, and nor is He the greater among equals.
Here’s the truth about Jesus as Lord spoken directly from scripture:
Matthew 28:18 NIV Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Philippians 2:9-11 NIV Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus Christ is not just Saviour – although he most certainly is – but Jesus Christ is Lord. There is no one greater and there is no one more powerful! He is unrivaled and unequalled. And He is your Lord!
Here’s one more scripture today about our Lord:
Ephesians 1:19-23 NIV And his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”
Jesus Christ is Lord of all.
