Good morning people who desire to see the face of God more and more.
Psalms 27:4 NIV One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
What would happen if this truly was the pursuit and posture of our heart and lives?
What would change in our world if every believer had an insatiable appetite for more of God?
For many today, our prayer might be to start with asking God to give us the desire to desire Him more. In other words, we are being honest that other things continue to grab our attention and even our affection. Not everything is bad, but everything can get in the way of a deepening desire for God Himself.
Sometimes it is not about a removal of things, but a realignment of things. Perhaps for you today, it is not that you have to stop doing wrong things, but rather, you know that a little less of some good things would enable you to spend more time on the one thing. Realignment of priorities might be your greatest friend today.
And when we pursue more of God and He reveals more of Himself to us, we don’t become satisfied and stop. Not at all! We lean in for more and more and more and more and more.
Oh, I want to see God more clearly! I want to learn to seek Him even more than I do. I want to know Christ and I want to enter more fully into Him.
I want to gaze on the beauty of the Lord! Oh, for this one pursuit to become more important than all others! To fix my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of faith! To see the Lord high and lifted up! To have a God focus in every part of life.
May David’s prayer be our prayer. More Lord, more.
