Good morning people who guard your heart against the pride of life.
Psalms 10:4 NIV In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
Unfortunately we live in a time when people want to pretty everything up and make things more palatable. People don’t want to call sin sin, and therefore, slavery continues and true freedom remains elusive for far too many.
But there is an answer! Obviously, Jesus is the Answer, but it requires humility to seek Him and to find Him.
But what keeps many from this humility?
Pride.
Pride is centered in self, and it has been around since the garden of Eden. Throughout the ages, many have elevated self and eliminated thoughts of God.
Pride says, “I can”, while humility says, “Without God, I can’t.”
Pride is an ugly beast that has an insatiable appetite. It divides relationships, it distances people from God, and it is at the root of many problems that we see. Simply put, pride destroys – it always has and it always will.
It’s time for God’s people to humble themselves. God requires it, we need it, and the world see Jesus through it.
1 Peter 5:5-6 NIV In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
