Good morning people who do not play games with what should be utterly destroyed.

I know that I am speaking very directly, but I know that it is by the Spirit of God that I am being led. These are days when bold declarations need to replace weak excuses or non-existent conversations.

How are we meant to deal with idols and gods that are trying to become normal and acceptable in the life of us as Christians?

Here’s how the apostle Paul writes it in the New Testament under the covenant of grace:

Galatians 5:24 NKJV And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

There is nothing passive, nice or friendly about crucifixion! Jesus suffered the cruelest of cruel deaths when He was crucified for us. And this is what we are told to do with passions and desires of our flesh that are contrary to the Spirit of holiness who lives in us!

Moses made it very clear for the people of God in the Old Testament too:

Deuteronomy 12:1-4 NKJV These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things.

It’s time for holy fear and godly reverence to come back to the people of God!
