Good morning royal child of the Most High and all-powerful God.

Luke 10:17-19 NIV The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

Demons have to submit to followers of Jesus. Notice my words. I didn’t say that demons must submit to everyone who is a Christian. The power is not released through simply making a decision at one time in the past. We need to walk in submission to God daily – this is what the devil cannot stand against!

Jesus tracks our present authority over the demons back to the time when Jesus saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. In other words, the devil was defeated the moment he fell from the presence of God!

Yes, Adam & Eve handed a certain amount of authority back to the devil through their choosing of sin. But Jesus reclaimed that authority through giving His life as the perfect sacrifice for sin!

Jesus takes this truth further as He declares that He has given His disciples authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy! Paise God!

I’ve always focused on the last part – to overcome all the power of the enemy – but today I want to also address our God-given authority over snakes and scorpions. The snake represents the devil himself, as this is how he first appeared to Adam & Eve. And the scorpion is known for his sting.

God wants you to know today, that from a place of submission to God, no devil or demon or circumstance that contains the sting of death, has greater power in your life than the Lord Jesus Christ!

It’s time to live like the royal child of God that you are!
