Good morning people who stand strong against the plans and attacks of the enemy.
Luke 4:13 NIV When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
Be aware of the times and seasons in your life. Specifically, be careful in times of weariness and disappointment.
Although the devil is legally defeated by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, he does not give up without a fight. He still takes every opportunity to attack God’s people with lies, intimidation and accusation.
I have found that weariness can be an open door to us not seeing through Father’s eyes. Our perspective can get distorted in times of tiredness, especially tiredness that comes from doing the will of God.
This is what happened to Elijah in 1 Kings 19. He had just destroyed the 450 prophets of Baal through a mighty move of God. It was powerful! But it was also exhausting. And it was in this place of exhaustion that Elijah was attacked by the devil to the point of wanting to die.
God’s way of deliverance for Elijah was not found in him praying harder or spending more time in God’s Word. At times, this will be the answer for some of us – we must be Spirit led.
God’s way forward for Elijah was a good feed and a good sleep, and then repeat. This is so important my friends. We must not think we are doing God a favour by working so hard for Him that we neglect His established rhythm and command of rest.
So, be vigilant against the devil’s schemes and be aware of the seasons in your life. May we all stand strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. May we all work hard and rest well. And may it all be for the glory of God.
