Good morning people who are filled by the Holy Spirit and led by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:1 NIV Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
Being full of the Holy Spirit and being led by the Holy Spirit go hand in hand. One shouldn’t happen without the other.
I feel that too many people pride themselves on what has happened in their spiritual walk. People can wear markers and moments as badges of honour, almost like, “Look at how spiritual I am.”
I praise God for the wonderful milestones in my walk with Father. You should too.
But milestones must not erase obedience here and now.
Being led by the Spirit is a mark of being filled with the Holy Spirit. It’s not just about speaking in tongues – although, like the apostle Paul said, I wish everyone spoke in tongues more and more – but it is about us keeping in step with the Holy Spirit.
I know that this theme constantly comes through BIY, but so it should and it needs to. God is pleased by faith that is evidenced by obedience. It truly is that simple and clear biblically.
Knowledge doesn’t impress God. Obedience to Him and His Word pleases Him.
Put another way, it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is the greatest evidence that we have been filled with the Holy Spirit. It’s not just about gifts, it is about fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
