Good morning people who hear what the Holy Spirit wants to say.
Psalms 23:2 NIV He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.
What I am about to say is not what this scripture means in context with the whole verse. I am acknowledging this up front, as I always want to handle the word of God correctly.
That said, the Holy Spirit is so amazing at using triggers – not only in God’s word, but also in God’s world – to speak wonderful truth to us. This is one of those times.
He makes me.
God created us; He made us. We are not an accident or an after-thought. God fashioned us fully and perfectly, and He knit us together in our mother’s womb. As David said in Psalm 139:14, ‘I am wonderfully made, and I know that full well.’ There is a need for gratitude in how God made us.
God saved us; He made us acceptable to the Father. We have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ! We have been redeemed and the price for our sins has been paid in full. We are no longer slaves to sin, but we are friends of God!
God is making us holy; He is sanctifying us. Yes, we are perfect (complete) in Christ the moment we are born again. But praise God, that in addition to giving us a new DNA at salvation, the Holy Spirit continues to make us into the holy people that we are in Jesus. It’s a beautiful work of God!
