#5271 – God’s Ways

Good morning people who see God in all of His Word.

Psalms 119:15 NIV I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

God’s Word is not given primarily to show us what we should do, but to show us what God is like. This is not semantics – this is a game changer!

Yes, we are to meditate on God’s precepts; His commands. We need to realign to the truth that God is a God of commands, not just a God of suggestions.

But we are to meditate on God’s commands by considering His ways; the focus is to be on Him!

I see us reading God’s Word asking, “How does God do things?”

When we see God and His ways, we are drawn towards following His example.

When we see how Jesus loved children, ate with sinners, healed the sick, cast out demons, and preached the good news of the kingdom of God, we see a way that is right for us to follow.

Then we read the command of Jesus to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 29:19), not primarily as something that we must do, but rather, as something that Jesus did and now we are to follow Him.

Do you see the difference?

Your view of God’s Word determines your acceptance of God’s Word.

It’s time to consider God’s ways.
