#5268 – Knowing God’s Word

Good morning people who do more than just read God’s Word.

Psalms 119:11 NIV I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

When we need God’s Word in a moment, it is often too late to search God’s Word.

Temptations and tests don’t wait for an opportune time. They don’t hold off until we have studied up on how to walk through something in a God-honouring way.

Therefore, we need to be prepared – just like in the rest of life.

The best way to be prepared spiritually for walking through life is to know God personally and to know His Word in our heart.

Memorisation of the truth that is found in God’s Word is one of the most underdeveloped weapons for many Christians.

I praise God that I was brought up memorising God’s Word. To this day, the Holy Spirit often brings back to my memory what I stored up in my heart, even as far back as 40 years ago. I am so grateful for this.

Naturally speaking, I have a poor memory and I do not rate high on the academic scale. Memorising anything is difficult, BUT GOD! Honestly, I believe Father has responded to my heart desire to know His Word, and because of this, He has supernaturally graced me to memorise scripture – it’s not me, it’s Him in response to my desire.

I believe He will do the same for you. Just ask Him and then be diligent.

It’s time to hide God’s Word in your heart.
