Good morning people who make mistakes and find grace in God.

God is greater than the law and He is greater than sin!

We have all missed the mark and fallen short of God’s perfect standard. We must always keep in mind that God is holy.

And yet He has provided a way for broken and sinful people to reconnect with His heart of love! This is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Jesus came across a situation in which a woman had been caught in adultery. The law said that she should be stoned. Yet Jesus is greater than the law!

Jesus turned to this woman’s accusers and shone the spotlight on their lives. The result was that they were all found guilty in their own hearts and they walked away.

Only Jesus and this sinful woman left. Now was the time when Jesus would reveal the truth to her; the truth of a better way; the truth of a truly free way.

John 8:9-11 NIV At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Jesus never wants to heap condemnation on sinners. This is not His heart.

But nor does He say, “It’s ok. Keep on living how you want. It’s all about grace.” This is not the good news!

Jesus is greater than sin!

In fact, so much so that He declares, “My life and my freedom is greater than the power of sin! You don’t need to be a slave to sin – you can be truly free in Me!”
