#522 – Our Provision

Good morning people who trust God for their provision

Matthew 4:3-4 The tempter came to Him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread”. Jesus answered, “It is written; ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Satan’s first attack on Jesus was in the area of provision. Jesus was hungry from forty days of prayer and fasting, and the devil came and said “I can provide you with food from these stones”.

We live in a time where the economy is unstable and many people are struggling to make ends meet. Prices are high, credit cards are full and people sometimes wonder where the money will come from.

In these uncertain times people are tempted to try different methods of meeting their needs. Some of these are fudging the books a little, not declaring everything they should to the tax office or taking unwise risks. In reality this identifies a doubt; maybe God is not in control and He may not be able to supply all of our NEEDS as He has promised (Philippians 4:19).

I want to declare boldly to you today that God alone is the One who promises to provide for us and He alone is the ONLY One that you can totally depend on. He is the Source of our provision.
