#5055 – A Godly Life

Good morning people who are being transformed more into the image of God.

2 Peter 1:3 NIV His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

We often think of God’s divine power in relation to breaking through something or overcoming something. And this is a key part of what the power of God can do. He wants us to overcome the enemy by the power of the Holy Spirit.

But in this verse, Peter is pointing us to the truth that God’s divine power – the person of the Holy Spirit – has given us everything we need for a godly life. This is so important.

I believe the greatest expression of the Holy Spirit in our lives is not that we had a breakthrough miracle, but that we are becoming more like Jesus.

Here’s the deal, everyone wants the miracle, and this is ok. We should believe for signs, wonders and miracles. God specialises in this and it is a demonstration of His power.

But I want to declare today, that in the absence of “the miracle”, God is wanting His divine power to produce godliness in His people; He is wanting us to become more like Him.

How does this happen?

Through our knowledge of Him!

Everything comes back to our revelation of who God is! Peter tells us that the extravagance of God’s grace and peace comes through our knowledge of God. And here He tells us that our godly life that happens through the divine power of the Holy Spirit also happens through our revelation knowledge of God!

Whatever you know about God, there is more to discover! There is more of the beauty, wonder, majesty and awe of who God is that He is wanting to reveal to you.

May we all know Him better.
