Good morning people who live in your flesh by faith in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:20 NIV I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Paul wrote that he now lives in his body by faith in the Son of God.
What is he actually saying?
The word body that Paul uses here is actually the word flesh (the Greek word sarx).
Once again, this is so important to see what Paul is wanting the church to hear.
Before Christ, Paul was ruled by his flesh, even though he was a very “religious” man. His best efforts weren’t enough, and he did what he wanted to do.
Now he is writing from a place of revelation that it is all about what Jesus has done for him. When he was born again and baptised, he entered into the fullness of life that is only found in being in Christ Jesus.
And Paul was not content to stop there. He committed his life (and death) to being ruled by the Spirit, not by his flesh.
Put a different way, he covenanted himself to God to live for Christ in his flesh, and he could only do this through the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.
This too is how we are called to live this life of faith in Jesus.
