Good morning people who hear God speak and then anchor yourself to His truth.

James 1:5 NIV If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

God’s wisdom and knowledge is available for those who ask and for those who are willing for God to speak and direct our thinking and our lives.

But then James says the following warning:

James 1:6 NIV But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Too often we hear the wisdom and knowledge of God, and then due to a lack of seeing the reality of the truth immediately in our lives, we pursue a different solution through the wisdom of the world. This simply does not produce the life that God has called us to live.

To be clear, I am not talking about not seeing a counsellor or a psychologist. I have benefited from professional support myself in my life. If you need help, please reach out to someone today.

But what I am saying is guarding against the pervasiveness of secular thinking that is contrary to the wisdom and knowledge of God. I pray you hear the difference in what I have just written.

Here’s my bottom line today: God knows best, and He loves it when we ask Him for wisdom, and then once He speaks, we anchor ourselves to His truth.

May we all grow in this in this increasingly secular world.
