#4884 – Wisdom & Knowledge

Good morning people who find revelation in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2:1-3 NIV I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

There is a worldly wisdom and there is godly wisdom. Unfortunately, too often we are going to the world to get what only God can truly supply.

I love what James wrote:

James 1:5 NIV If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

If you lack wisdom and knowledge on an issue, your starting point should be to ask God. Yet too often, God is our last resort or an after-thought.

We need to come back to the elementary truth that God is omniscient, that is, He is all-knowing. This is not a theological statement that is devoid of power. It is the absolute truth! God knows everything!

And He invites us to come to Him.

But through the writing of James, there is also a holy warning. Let’s look at that tomorrow.
