Good morning people who are wiling to suffer for the sake of Jesus’ church.

Colossians 1:24 NIV Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

Many believers are not willing to suffer for the honour of Jesus’ name. This is a sad reality.

But Paul writes and takes things a step further. It is one thing to suffer for Christ, but Paul says that He was suffering for the sake of the church. WOW!

Paul had a deep love for the church of Jesus Christ because he knew that the church was Jesus’ church. Paul had a revelation of Jesus’ love for His bride; for His body.

Many Christians today don’t even like the church. Many have had bad experiences, and as a result, they have stepped back, and unfortunately, many have thrown stones at the church that Jesus loves.

Is the church presently perfect? No, but that is in part because you and I are there. Now, I am not excusing people behaving badly (especially in the name of God), but man’s behaviour doesn’t change who the church is.

My prayer today is that there is a renewed love for the church by every believer. My prayer is that yesterday’s disappointments do not rob people of God’s promises for tomorrow.

Jesus is coming back for a glorious church and I most definitely want to be a contributing part of His bride.
