#4864 – Set Right Again

Good morning people who celebrate the power of the blood and the cross.

Colossians 1:19-20 NIV For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Dislocating a bone in your body results in pain throughout your whole body. That pain and suffering remains until the body is set right again.

So too was it with all of creation.

Through sin, the world was dislocated – put out of place – with God. Our sin became our focus, and that dislocated focus resulted in death and separation.

Then came Jesus Christ, son of the living God! Emmanuel!

But we must never gloss over the immeasurable, immense pain and suffering that Jesus had to go through in order to set things right again.

Think about a dislocated bone in the natural body. The pain of the dislocation is huge, but the reality of putting that bone back into place has its own pain.

Why did Jesus go through this?

Why was the Father willing to let Jesus go through this?

Because both the Father and the Son wanted mankind to be reconciled – returned to favour – with God! They wanted the power of sin broken and that which was dislocated to be set right again!

This is what God did for us.
