#4711 – Push Ahead

Good morning people who let go of the past and take hold of what’s ahead

Paul released himself from the past and declared, “This one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind.”

But it was only half of his statement. Here’s the full statement: “This one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead.” Philippians 3:13

The word ‘straining’ here is not about trying hard in our flesh; this is not about holiness by our own good works.

This is about making the effort, being intentional, reaching forward to take hold of.

The reality is, forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead both require intentional decision. And this decision is not always a once off decision. Many times, it is about daily putting off and daily putting on.

I believe that the greatest thing that we should be straining towards is a greater revelation of who God is, and from that, a greater revelation of who we are in Him.

Only God gives revelation, but it is often given to those who passionately pursue Him.

How is your pursuit of God going?
