#4687 – Faithfulness Is…

Good morning people who are in love with the God of faithfulness

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The word faithfulness here is the word faith in the KJV and it means an absolute conviction. I had never looked at it this closely before and seen this!

To make it clearer, this is the same word used many times throughout the Bible, including in Hebrews 11 in the great faith chapter.

So, what is God saying?

Part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives (part of the evidence of Him being present and Lord) is that we have absolute conviction about the truth that He has revealed to us.

With this revelation that is based in the unseen realm (the spiritual realm), it empowers us to be faithful – just like God. That is, we can be relied upon by God to stand firm in our faith that is based in truth.

Some of the “bad press” that Christians have attracted over the centuries is their lack of faithfulness to truth, resulting from a lack of faith at its core. This is often seen in hypocrisy, which is something repulsive to a searching world.

I’m seeing afresh today just how important this fruit of the Spirit is in our lives.

May we be people of faith who are faithful to the truth.
