#4627 – ‘All in’ Faith

Good morning people who go the whole way that God requires

Hebrews 11:17-19 NIV By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.

Some may argue that Abraham was never going to sacrifice Isaac in obedience to what God had said: that he knew God would provide an alternative.

These scriptures tell a different story:

‘Abraham was about to sacrifice his one and only son.’

‘Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead.’

God could raise the dead, but there was no guarantee that He would.

Abraham lived life with an ‘all in’ faith. This is such an example to all of us.

May we too live a life of fully-surrendered faith in God.
