#4610 – Not Yet Seen

Good morning people who listen to God speak about new things

Hebrews 11:7 NIV By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

It’s easier to trust God on things we are familiar with, than on things that we are unfamiliar with.

Yet the Bible is full of real life stories of people who trusted in and obeyed God, even when He said things that had never been said before. For many, there was no point of reference, and no previous similar story that they could recall to stir their faith.

At the time of this encounter that Noah had with God, there had never been a worldwide flood, and possibly, it had not even rained yet…ever. This was not a case of a long drought, but rather, this was God talking to Noah about something he had no point of reference for.

So, what was Noah to do with this illogical instruction from God?

Obey it. And this is exactly what he did.

Why?

Because he had faith in the God whom he knew.

When God speaks to you about something that makes no sense and that you have no point of reference for, what is your response to Him?
