#4519 – Fight or Flee

Good morning people who know what to do when you are tempted

We should not fear temptation, but we should fight it or flee from it.

When the temptation is from a natural source, we should flee from it.

Joseph is a great example of this. When Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him, he didn’t fight it – he fled from the situation.

If you are tempted in a certain physical area, don’t intentionally place yourself in a situation where you have to fight it. If you come across it innocently (like Joseph did), flee from it, don’t fight it.

When the temptation is from a spiritual source, we should fight it.

Jesus is a great example of this. When the devil came to Jesus when He was in a time of prayer and fasting, Jesus didn’t flee it – He fought the enemy with the Word of God and a strong resolve.

The enemy wants us to be intimidated by him and to flee from him in fear. He should be fleeing from us in fear!!! Never forget this verse:

James 4:7 NIV Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

So, fight what you should fight, and flee from what you should flee from, but don’t live in fear of what you have the power over.
